Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation / Melasma is the medical term for darker patches of skin. Excess melanin production causes these patches, which can be caused by anything from acne scars and sun damage to hormonal fluctuations.

If you have hyperpigmentation, know that you are not alone. Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition with a variety of treatment options available.

Hyperpigmentation has to be one of the most difficult issues to treat on your own. Sure, there's the well-known list of botanical brighteners like licorice root, arbutin, and soy; the more hard-core gold-standard chemicals like hydroquinone and retinoids; and our beloved cast of antioxidants, with vitamin C and green tea shining brightest.

Melasma is caused by a combination of factors including genetics, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy, and UV light sensitivity. Melasma is a difficult condition to handle. There are a variety of therapies available, including Fractional CO2 Laser, chemical peels, topical remedies, cosmetic camouflage such as Makeup With SPF, Skin-bleaching creams, Sunscreen, and Skin Care Products. Our treatment plan differs from patient to patient as each person’s genetics is different.

Consult our dermatologist Dr.Rajdeep Mysore who can help you to treat the cause of your hyperpigmentation and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
